This week’s The Line Is Drawn prompt is classic paintings + comic book characters.
I REALLY hope they pick one of my suggestions.
I’m linking the whole article here because there were too many things I wanted to quote. These are men and women creators of both mainstream and indie comics, and the things they have to say about the problems that come with women and comics - in them, making them, and reading them - have given me All The Emotions.
Comic book ladies who follow this blog - I feel pretty confident you’ll read this. I also feel pretty confident that, like me, you won’t just agree wholesale with everything everyone has to say, but that you’ll appreciate so many well-reasoned calls to action, reasons for change, etc.
For all the rest: Even if you don’t read comics, please, take a couple minutes and read this. This isn’t just about one popular medium - although this discussion is primarily about mainstream comics, so much of what’s said could so easily be applied to other popular media (movies, tv, video games). Get yourself out of your comfort zone and try thinking a touch more critically about things.

Ignoring all of my Batman headcanons about romance (all of them), this is cute. And it’s the nicest response to the horrible sex page I’ve seen yet.
You’re doing it right.
